At Garcon Point there is a dwarf form of S. leucophylla, which grows no more than two feet tall.  We are aware of other species, such as S. flava, growing in the area, but we did not find them.  Real Estate development is rapid and some of the stands we saw were on prime property... with 'For Sale' signs.

From a distance we mistook these short Sarracenia, with dark, red, smaller flowers, to be S. rubra.   As we got closer for a better look, we could see the white tops; they were leucophylla.

Note the S. rubra-like lid and shape to these plants.  Although this area gets flooded at times, we observed very dry conditions.  No standing water.

A typical stand of Garcon Point S. leucophylla.
